Myths, Mysteries & Curiosities 3

These stories were taken from the writings of Mary E. Cook, daily contributor to the Worcester newspapers, submitted during the Wachusett Dam & Reservoir construction period.

Rather than the typically dry engineering reports of the Metropolitan Board they offer impressions of the events in a more common language.

The first one is a story of a train wreck that occurred at Oakdale Station where luckily all those involved survived..

The next one tells of the last train to travel the tracks before they were submerged by the rising waters of the Wachusett Reservoir.

Finally, I included a selection of photographs of the people of the era I thought you might find interesting.

Thanks,

Paul
